Apothicaria: What is a catalyst?

Who has ever heard of a catalyst in herbalism?

The catalysts are herbs, flowers, roots or resins which serve to amplify the operator's demand on a chosen theme.

For example, Verbena (Verbena officinalis) will increase and multiply the intention and the charge of the product in which it is added.

You could use it in a ritual bath to increase your charisma and your power of seduction or take it in herbal tea to dispel negativity and bring more magic into your life. You can also put it, along with other herbs, in a pouch to stimulate creativity and inspiration in your art projects. I've put together a little recipe for you to try whenever you have 'blank page syndrome' or to receive more Inspiration for choices to make.

Here are also other catalysts:

- Dragon's Blood (Resin): Widely used as a catalyst, Perfect for Strength, Power, Purification and Banishment.

- Ash: Symbol of Yggdrasil, Catalyst of Harmony, Cosmic Energy, Healing

- Olivier: Condenses Solar Energy, for longevity, endurance, connection with Mother Earth

- Orange tree: Excellent for everything related to Optimism, Joy and Inner Light

- Galangal: Prosperity, Justice

- Ginger: Love, Sexuality, Courage, Success

And you, did you already use a catalyst in your mixtures?
